Vermithrax II is the fifth of Puzzle mode's seventeen planets. It becomes available when any four of Seraph III's five puzzles have been solved.
The puzzles of Vermithrax II involve swapping gems into unoccupied spaces of the game board to create matches. A brief tutorial regarding this technique is given upon reaching the planet for the first time. All the puzzles are arranged in various formations and patterns.
Completing any four of Vermithrax II's five puzzles unlocks access to Maya III, the next planet in Puzzle mode.
Trivia
- The mechanic of swapping gems into empty spaces of the game board was later used in Bejeweled 3, specifically in the Avalanche mini-quests of Quest mode.
- The planet's backdrop is used in the title screen of the PopCap loader version of Bejeweled 2.
- Wallpaper versions, iOS/Android versions and other ports of Bejeweled 2 feature this backdrop mirrored.
- According to Armands Auseklis, the name of this backdrop is "Dale - Stranded".[1]
- The backdrop was posted on the internet on May 7, 2002; more than two years before the release of Bejeweled 2.
